Today is the Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Speech Competition, and all three Guthrie County high schools are represented.

Panorama had all seven individuals that competed at districts advanced to today, and they will be performing in seven different events. Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center has six students that will be performing throughout the day, and West Central Valley has one student that is at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School today. Among the events all three schools are performing, solo musical theater is the most popular, with storytelling, acting and literary program as the next most popular choice. All 14 competitors will be looking to put on a performance good enough to be chosen to go to All-State.
