The Dallas County Emergency Management Agency has declared a burn ban.

The agency states that no person should engage in open burning within Dallas County with the exceptions of Van Meter and Granger Fire Districts. According to the agency, the Iowa State  Fire Marshal finds open burning may cause danger to a life or property. 

The ban will be lifted when the agency believes it is safe to do so. Anyone violating the ban may be subject to a simple misdemeanor charge. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
