The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library has some special events for the month of March.

Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that the library will have their usual story hours on Fridays, telling Raccoon Valley Radio that for one of the events there will be a special guest.

“On March 1st, they’re going to be doing animal tails with muddy pig art. On March 8th, they’re going to do ‘Alpha-beasts,’ with animal alphabet letter craft. On March 15th, we have Miss Iowa coming. So she has a background in music, (as a) vocal music teacher and instruments, so we look forward to having her here.”

Hawkins mentions that there will also be a friends of the library meeting at 6:15pm March 5th, a book club meeting at 3pm on the 12th, and their monthly Lunch and Learn at noon on March 13th, with this month’s guest being Farm Bureau.
