Friday, February 23rd
12:26am: Dalton Frizzell reported a vehicle parked in his driveway at 507 South Locust Street, which did not belong there. The officer arrived and spoke to the subject. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Jay D. Wenger,42 of Scranton for, “Driving While Barred – Agg. And Operation without an Interlock Device – Simple.” He was also processed for Suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated, pending lab results.
5:03am: The Cobble Stone Inn requested an officer at 771 Wild Rose Lane for a reported argument occurring between a couple. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Corey Alexander Puski, 35 of Boone for, “Public Intoxication – Simple.”
Saturday, February 24th
8:05am: Dana Redfern of Jefferson reported an assault having occurred at a residence in the 600 block of West Lincoln Way. As a result of the investigation, a juvenile male was taken into custody and turned over to a Juvenile Detention Officer.
10:59am: Staff members with the Wild Rose Casino reported a possible assault having occurred on their property involving two patrons. The Officer investigated and found the victim of the assault was not in support of pursuing a criminal charge.
3:57pm: A staff member with Hy Vee reported a possible assault involving two juveniles having occurred on the property. The Officer investigated and spoke with the guardians of both involved. They did not support the pursuit of a possible criminal charge.
4:53pm: The Union Pacific Railroad reported two persons trespassing on railroad property. The Officer checked the reported area and found no one on the property.
6:37pm: An anonymous caller reported a large object in the roadway near the intersection of South Elm Street and Greenwood Road. The Officer responded and cleared the roadway.
Sunday. February 25th
3:28am: A Jefferson Police Officer was requested to assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle pursuit approaching the City Limits of Jefferson on 220th Street. The vehicle stopped prior to entering the city limits. The Officer responded to the scene and assisted until no longer needed.
8:18am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call at a residence in the 600 block of South Olive Street.
11:22am: Josh Derry of Jefferson reported juveniles shooting airsoft guns at Daubendeik walking park. The Officer located those involved and advised them the airsoft guns could not be used in the city limits.
1:54pm: While on patrol an Officer observed a male, he knew to have an active Greene County Warrant for his arrest in the 200 block of West Vest Street. The Officer stopped the male and as a result, Justin Downs was placed under arrest. During the arrest Justin Downs was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. In addition to the warrant, Justin Downs was charged with “Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana – 3rd Offense” and “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia”.
7:43pm: Jeremy Cartwright of Jefferson reported a stray dog in the 200 block of South Cedar Street. The Officer picked up the stray German Shepherd and took it to the Community Animal Shelter.
8:54pm: An anonymous caller reported loud music disturbing the peace in the 900 block of West State Street. The Officer located the source of the music and asked that the music to be turned down.
9:17pm: The operator of the “Washing Well”, 301 West Reed Street reported two persons loitering on the property. They requested the Officer ask the two to leave the privately owned property and not return. The Officer found the two and they left the property.
Monday, February 26th
7:42am: A caller advised of a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading west into Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported driver.
1:44pm: Melinda Gallagher reported a vehicle driving 55 mph with a flat tire on 220th Street, heading west into Jefferson. The officer located the jeep later at the casino and informed Casino Staff to attempt to locate the owner and advise them.
3:35pm: An officer met Shawna Bachman at the Animal Holding Facility. She had picked up a stray dog near Hwy. 4 and 160th Street.
5:19pm: Stephanie Wiskus requested an officer to speak with neighbors about an issue with their children.
11:21pm: An officer located an occupied vehicle in Daubendiek Park. He advised the subject the park was closed. The subject left the area.
11:22pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. The building was found to be secure.
Tuesday, February 27th
7:38am: A traffic Stop in the 200 Block of East Madison Street resulted in the officer requesting an Arrest Warrant. The requested warrant for Star Nicole Gifford of Jefferson is for, “Driving While Revoked.”
3:58pm: Faith Sanderson reported falling victim to a Phone Scam in which she incurred a loss of $80.00. The subject requested Gift Cards in connection to a pet adoption.
4:35pm: A Greene County School Bus Driver reported a School Bus Violation, which had occurred near Westwood and Hickory Lane. Johnny D. Hamilton of Jefferson was cited for, “Unlawful Passing of a School Bus.”
5:48pm: Susan Lansman reported falling victim to a Phone Scam. She incurred a loss of $1,400.00. The officer advised her to contact her bank and he is investigating.
8:47pm: Guthrie County advised of a vehicle heading north on Hwy. 4 from the county line. The driver was reported to be Suspended. The officer did not locate the vehicle coming into Jefferson.
10:03pm: The Greene County ER requested an officer at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street to assist with a Combative Patient. The officer assisted the ER Staff until he was no longer needed.
10:56pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 208 West Lincoln Way Street. The business was found to be secure.
