The first funnel week has come and gone, and legislators worked to make sure bills continued through for more discussion.
Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair says that there was a lot of committee and floor action for several bills. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of what they went over.
“We’ve run the gamut of bills from things that were 100 percent unanimous to things that were bipartisan to things that did become partisan issues. And I think that’s how the legislature often works. But we looked at some bills within education, and we looked at a lot of state government bills, started working on boards and commissions.”
Sinclair mentions that a few bills that ended up passing in the Senate include a religious freedom bill, which she mentions was a controversial conversation piece, and a bill she helped draft, which works to make multi lane highways safer by enforcing laws to keep drivers from camping in the left lane.
