Several Perry Student Council members share their thoughts from the Central Leadership Conference that occurred this past Tuesday.
Fifteen high school students traveled to Johnston High School where the theme was “Mastering the Art of Leadership.” Perry Student Council Advisor Brenda Mintun explains that Perry, along with all Iowa schools, were invited to learn about the topics of resiliency and preparation plus hear from a keynote speaker. Perry Senior Kaylee Wuebker recalls the one thing she learned from the conference is teamwork.
“Work together with people. Work together to build situations for our school and to enhance student participation, and really just get everyone involved and connected together.”
Perry Sophomore Yamilet Gonzalez notes her one takeaway was the connectivity and friendliness of people, while Junior Amy Diaz pointed out that there is always something to fight for.
