The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is once again participating in a program to keep tobacco, alternative nicotine and vapor products out of the hands of underage individuals in the county.

I-PLEDGE is a program that involves the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division that educates local retailers and enforces the state’s tobacco, alternative nicotine and vapor product laws. In that effort, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office is conducting compliance checks on local establishments. 

As a reminder, criminal penalties for selling these items to minors include a $135 fine for the first offense, $325 for the second offense, and $645 for a third violation.
