The Stuart People Active for Library Service (PALS) will be hosting their first guest speaker event of the year this weekend.

PALS Member Carol Brewer says that on Saturday at 10am, they will have Tom Milligan on hand to present “Grant Wood: Prairie Rebel.” She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what the presentation is about.

“He is going to be taking on the image of Grant Wood. And for those of you who have heard of Grant Wood, or actually probably have seen, one of the more famous art (he is known for) is the ‘American Gothic.’ So he is going to take on Grant Wood, and he’s going to be like he’s talking to his backyard neighbor. Kind of talking about his life and how he changed the art world forever in his works, which is more than just ‘American Gothic.’”

Brewer shares that Milligan will be performing for about 45 minutes, along with some audience participation. She adds that this isn’t the first time that he’s been here, and that many may remember his presentation on Henry A. Wallace.
