Friday, February 16th

7:44am: LeAnn Hostetler reported a theft of an electronic device. As the Officer was investigating, the missing item was found by its owner.

12:02pm: Rachelle Smith of Jefferson reported a neighbor’s cat was coming onto her property in the 1400 block of Southfield Drive. As a result of the investigation, Dave McQuillen of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Animal Running at Large”

12:14pm: Tommy Patrick of Jefferson reported a stray cat had been coming onto his property and defecating. The Officer located a possible owner of the cat. The possible owner advised the problem would be corrected.

8:15pm: An Officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of East Perry Street to check for a male with an active Greene County Arrest Warrant. As a result of the investigation, Michael Eastman of Jefferson what placed under arrest for the original warrant charge of “Failure to Appear – Theft in the 5th Degree” In addition, he was charged with Harassment in the 1st Degree and Interference with Official Acts”

11:47pm: While on patrol an Officer located a person at Kelso Park after the park was closed. The female was advised of the park’s hours and left the property.

Saturday, February 17th

6:22am: A Manager with Fareway Stores reported a suspected shoplifter caught on video surveillance. The Officer is investigating.

10:03am: Kaylin Smalls of Jefferson reported a possible attempt to break into her residence in the 400 block of South Chestnut Street. The Officer checked the property and found no evidence of an attempt to break in.

11:50am: Kristin Roberts of Jefferson reported a stray dog running loose near the intersection of Russell Street / Elm Street. The Officer responded and did not find the dog.

1:42pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 100 block of East Vest Street.

1:52pm: An Officer was advised of a burglary alarm activation at 300 American Avenue. The Officer found nothing suspicious at the business.

6:32pm:: A Jefferson Officer assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle in a ditch near Henderson Park.

8:47pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of 220th Street and North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Liberty Norgart of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Violation of Financial Liability Coverage”

9:08pm: Cindy Rowland of Jefferson reported a stray dog running on her property in the 900 block of North Pinet Street. As a result of the investigation, Ryan Brown of Jefferson was issued citations for “Animal Running at Large” and “Annual Animal License Requirement Violation”

11:00pm: An Officer was advised of a burglary alarm activation at 300 American Avenue. The Officer found nothing suspicious at the business.

11:51pm: An Officer spoke with an anonymous caller in reference to possible harassment. The Officer found a violation of the law had not occurred.

Sunday, February 18th

2:17am: Bridgett Allen of Churdan reported a truck having crossed the centerline on 220th Street near Grand Junction. A description of the truck was not available and it could not be located.

8:46am: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Colby Lappe of Auburn was issued a citation for “Dark Window / Windshield”

4:59pm: Richard Pauley of Jefferson reported a two vehicle, property damage vehicle accident at the intersection of North Chestnut Street and East Reed Street. An investigation of the scene found a “2013” white, Honda CRV operated by Maya Telleen of Jefferson was traveling west on East Reed Street. A “2005” silver, Toyota Corolla Matrix traveling north on North Chestnut Street. Both entered the intersection nearly at the same time. The Matrix made contact with the CRV front driver side corner and wheel. The Matrix’s main damage was to the front center of the vehicle. Approximately $1500 damage was caused to the CRV. Approximately $4000 damage was caused to the Matrix. As a result of the investigation, Maya Telleen was issued a citation for “Violation of Conditions of Minors School License” Richard Pauley was issued a citation for “Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right”

11:09pm: An anonymous caller reported a red car being driven recklessly on 220th Street just west of Jefferson. The vehicle was later located parked at the Wild Rose Casino. The driver reported having been tired from driving for a long period of time. The driver was warned for the reported driving.

11:58pm: Sumit Khanna of Jefferson reported a possibly intoxicated driver having left the Oly’s gas station in a black vehicle. The Officer located the vehicle and the driver did not show signs of intoxication.

Monday, February 19th

1:00am: While on patrol, an Officer found an unsecured door at a business in the 1400 block of North Elm Street. The Officer found nothing suspicious and secured the door.

1:57am: While on patrol, an Officer found an unsecured door at a business in the 600 block of East Lincoln Way. The Officer found nothing suspicious and secured the door.

9:17am: Chad Ferguson of Jefferson reported a burglary of a business having occurred overnight. As a result of the investigation a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 400 block of West Head Street. The investigation is ongoing.

2:28pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 1900 block of North Wilson Street.

3:36pm: Walter Ramaekers of Jefferson reported the theft of a mobility scooter from his residence in the 900 block of West Adams Street. The Officer is investigating.

*As a result of the snow event having occurred on February 16, 2024, an Officer issued 27 citations to vehicles violating the cities “Snow Parking Ordinance”

*As a result of an investigation started on February 2, 2024, Tracy William McDonald of Jefferson was charged with “Theft in the 3rd Degree”

*As a result of an investigation started on February 12, 2024, Ellen Louise Ritter of Jefferson was charged with “Harassment in the 3rd Degree”
