The Adel Library is inviting the public to learn about the history of the Iowa native musician Glenn Miller this Thursday.

The library is partnering with the State Historical Society of Iowa for the program titled “Iowa History: Portrait of Glenn Miller,” and will be held this Thursday from noon-1pm in the Conference Room 2 on the second floor of the library. This program is for adults 19 years or older.

According to the library, Dennis Spragg, who is the authorized archivist and biographer of Miller, will give insight into his childhood growing up in Clarinda, Iowa, and his important work as a conductor, composer, and musician, plus look at his mysterious disappearance that occurred back in 1944. The program will also offer coffee and tea for participants. More information can be found at https://adel-ia.whofi.com/calendar/event/5221184 or contact the library at (515)-993-3512.
