
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office released information on an incident that happened early yesterday morning on Interstate 80 (I-80) by DeSoto.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a semi truck was blocking the westbound lane on I-80 forcing a closure, which then led to an eastbound closure. The Sheriff’s Office explains that the crash occurred at about 5:15am. Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Alex Dinkla informs Raccoon Valley Radio that three vehicles were involved in the crash with a couple of people that sustained minor injuries.
Dinkla notes the cause of the crash is weather related, but it is still under investigation. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reports that the Interstate reopened at 7:25am Friday morning. Responding agencies included Iowa State Patrol, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Waukee Police Department, Van Meter and DeSoto Fire Departments, and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
