The deadline to turn in applications for a new funding opportunity is coming up.

Midwest Partnership Executive Director Brenda Dudley says that there is approximately $250,000 in state funding to help get youth internships in high demand fields, with a target audience of high school youths aged 14-24 that are at risk of not graduating. These students must also be from low income families, communities that are underrepresented in the Iowa workforce, or who face other barriers to success. Funds may be used for services that support internship programs like direct participant wages, training resources and many others. Non-profits, educational institutions and employers are all eligible to apply, with the deadline being February 21st at 2pm. Applications must be turned in by that time to iowagrants.gov.
