A non-profit organization recently received a grant to help with various projects in its three-county area.

Heart of Habitat for Humanity Director Ron Christensen tells Raccoon Valley Radio the John Deere Foundation donated $90,000 for the next three years, including $30,000 per year. He explains what the plans are for those funds.

“What I am going to use it for though, is Helping Hands projects, and I’ll use it mainly in Greene and Guthrie counties to support any Helping Hands projects that we have in those counties. Because what I’m finding is that Helping Hands is a real large need in the three counties that I oversee.”

Christensen is appreciative of John Deere for their donation and that it will allow for more projects to be done in Greene, Boone and Guthrie counties. Christensen encourages anyone to apply for Helping Hands projects that are exterior repairs or improvements to existing homes.
