When it comes to jobs, one item many people ask about when applying is health insurance.
Health insurance is something that helps individuals out when they get prescriptions or visit a doctor. Farm Bureau Insurance Agent John Harada says that there are many things people may not think about when it comes to their health insurance though, and tells Raccoon Valley Radio about what individuals may forget.
“A lot of times people think about health insurance, ‘Yeah, I have a copay. What if I go to the doctor?’ or ‘Yeah, if I have a surgery I have a deductible. I have to pay those kinds of things.’ But there’s a lot of features that have been built into Affordable Care Act Plans that have expanded that coverage that people don’t think about, from the standpoint of, ‘Do I need some help because I’m feeling a little bit depressed, or sad, or I have some anxiety about something,’ or, you know, ‘I just don’t feel good. Should I get an annual physical?’”
Harada mentions that many individuals just think about the usual things that health insurance covers, like visits for illnesses or injuries, but that they should remember that wellness check ups for both the body and mind are also covered by health insurance, sometimes at little to no cost for the patient.
