The Perry City Council accepted the Snow Plowing Pizza Award from Domino’s as part of Monday’s meeting.
Back on January 17th, the city was notified that they were one of 20 in the country to be recognized to receive $25,000 from Domino’s. The Council approved the grant application, which will allow the money to help with Perry’s snow removal equipment. The Council also approved to replace a hangar door at the airport for $24,339. City Administrator Sven Peterson explained that the door was damaged by a vendor who was attempting to make repairs in June of 2022. The vendor tried multiple times to fix the door, but the work saw it get progressively worse.
Other items on the agenda that were approved was the pay application for the Runway 14/32 Relocation Phase 2 of $17,312, a resolution of estimate of costs, and plans and specifications for the AWOS Replacement Project and setting a public hearing for March 4th at 6pm, a resolution for the scope of work for snow removal equipment for a total of $30,000, a resolution for a Professional Services Agreement with Bolton & Menk for the Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements Project not to exceed $396,000, and a resolution approving a Water Quality Initiative Urban Conservation grant application for the Downtown Phase 1 project. They also approved polling place agreements between the Dallas County Commissioner of Elections and the City of Perry as presented, and a resolution for tax abatement applications for residential construction to be completed in 2024 within city limits.
