The Bluejays are playing some of their best basketball of the season as we wrap up the regular season this week. Winners of four of their last five, Perry travels to South Tama this evening.
A big part of the second half turn around has been the emergence of junior Owen Myers. In the eleven games in the new year, Myers has scored in double figures in all of them and is averaging 16.5 ppg during this stretch. Coach Morris credits his energy. Coach Morris went on to say “Owen is an overachiever. An overachiever with energy is something you can’t beat. He is naturally gifted at being positive and making things happen.”
Perry brings their 8-12 record to South Tama tonight, who is 7-11. The senior Tommy Tyynismaa leads the Trojans in scoring at 11.3 ppg and the freshman Emerson Bridgewater grabs 7.2 rpg to lead the club. South Tama is offensively challenged as they average just 44.6 ppg.
