The Huskies of Winterset were pumped up as they hand the ADM Tigers their second lost of the season in boys basketball.
It was an offensive powerhouse as both teams came out firing in the rivalry between ADM and Winterset. The Huskies were looking to make a statement on Senior Night as they tried to become the first team in the Raccoon Valley Conference to defeat the Tigers. The first quarter was back and forth action as ADM saw a lead of nine disappear quick and a late three from Hank Wilmes knotted things up at 20. The second quarter continued the fireworks as Winterset took a 37-36 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Winterset scored 23 in the third quarter and distance themselves a by leading by eight (60-52) at the end of three. ADM battled back in the fourth, but the three pointers were dropping for Winterset, as they swung to a 80-70 victory on Senior Night. Charging through for the Huskies was Senior Hudson Wilmes, who scored a game-high 26 points. Senior Sam Hensley had 16, and Hayden Wilmes finished with 12.
ADM was missing Sophomore Hudson Shull in the lineup, but Adam Bryte scored 20 for the Tigers. Rhylan Stine-Smith and Hudson Lorensen came through with 15 points each, and Grant Rychnovsky had 11.
Winterset improves to 12-8 overall (9-6 Raccoon Valley Conference) as ADM falls to 16-2 overall (14-1 RVC). Next game for the Huskies is Friday in Ballard, while the Tigers return home to take on Carroll.
