The regular season ended on Tuesday in Churdan for the Paton-Churdan Rockets vs. Glidden-Ralston. The Wildcats won the girls’ game 56-46, then took the boys’ contest 61-47. The Rockets are 1-19 in boys’ basketball and 0-21 in girls.
Freshmen Kaliyah Minnihan and Alivya Smith combined to score 37 points for the P-C girls with 21 for Smith and 16 for Minnihan. G-R was led in scoring by Allison Snyder and Brileigh Bock with 19 points apiece. The Rockets were hot at the start with 20 points in the first half, but trailed 36-32 at the half, and fell behind by 11 points in the fourth quarter.
The boys’ contest saw the Wildcats lead 32-30 at the half, then stretch the lead as the second half ensued. Johnathon Benjamin had 21 points for G-R and Cayden Stream had the hot hand for the Rockets with a game-high 23 points.
