Playing Perry for the second time in four days, the results of the second games were the same as the first for the Greene County teams, two more losses. The girls’ final was 45-29 and the boys’ score was 72-64. The regular season ended at 1-20 for the Greene County girls and 2-19 for the boys. Perry improved to 4-14 on the girls’ side and 8-12 for the boys.
Emma Shipley had four three-pointers and 12 points for Coach Tori Ogden’s girls and Makenna Ebersole added seven points. Perry led 11-1 after one quarter 20-9 at intermission and the largest margin was 18 points. The Jayettes had 16 points from Taryn Nehring, nine above her season average.
Brynley Ruzicka had a career night for the Rams in the loss. He tied a career best with eight goals from three-point range and he set a new career single game scoring high with 32 points. Gabe Ebersole had 10 points, all in the fourth quarter as the Rams climbed to within eight points after trailing by 19 late in the third quarter.
The Greene County girls enter the Class 3A postseason on Feb. 10 at Cherokee Washington at 7 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
