The Winterset Huskies Girls Basketball team captured their 10th win last night as they defeated the ADM Tigers.

Back on January 5th, Winterset beat ADM by a score of 42-31 in Adel. Last night, the same score was the final as the Huskies got a big win for senior night. Winterset jumped out scoring the first six points, and would lead 14-9 after the first. They would stretch the lead out to 12 in the second quarter before ADM responded with a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to five with two minutes left. A big three pointer from Olivia Boyle would give the Huskies a 26-18 lead at half.

The third quarter was all defense as both teams scored a combined 13 points and Winterset held the advantage at 32-25 heading into the fourth. ADM would fall behind by 12 a second time, but quickly pulled with four (33-29) before big shots from Junior Brynn Acton cemented the win for the Huskies, winning the game 42-31.

Winterset was led by Acton who racked up 14, followed by Ashlynn Devine and Boyle finishing with 10 a piece. ADM’s leading scorer was Junior Kelli Storck with 11. Sophomore Madelyn Roundcount got nine (9), and Aubrey Winter finished with six (6).

The win puts Winterset at 10-10 overall (7-8 Raccoon Valley Conference), while ADM drops to 6-14 overall (4-11 RVC).

Winterset will be on the road Friday taking on the Ballard Bombers, and ADM returns to Adel for a home matchup against the Carroll Tigers. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the coverage for ADM on K1079 and the KKRF Mobile App.
