The Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is preparing for a new month of events.
Program Director Meghan McBride says that on February 7th, they will be hosting a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program at the Casey Public Library, where they will make a Valentine’s catapult, and have some other STEM projects available for participants to do. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the next week they will be doing programs in Guthrie Center.
“On February 12th, we will be at the Guthrie Library doing the STEM challenges, the catapult, and just kind of Valentine’s Day themed. On February 14th, I will be at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library for a Lunch and Learn, that will be at noon.
McBride says that for the Lunch and Learn, she will go over the Extension’s “Spend Smart, Eat Smart” program, and participants will have some Valentine’s Day themed snacks as they go over how to budget for groceries while making healthy meals.
