A Guthrie Center man was killed in a crash Wednesday evening.

Wayne Haynes, 69 of Guthrie Center, was westbound on Highway 44 while driving his bicycle, when a Ford F150 operated by Francis Flanery, 83 of Panora, ran into him while traveling in the same lane at roughly 5:38pm. The pickup collided with Haynes in the travel portion of the roadway. Iowa State Patrol was called in to assist with the crash scene, and Haynes was transported to Guthrie County Hospital by Panora Emergency Medical Services, where he died from his injuries. The incident remains under investigation. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it becomes official.
