Monday, January 22nd

4:12am: While on patrol an Officer located debris in the roadway near the intersection of Lincoln Way and Chestnut Streets. The Officer removed the debris.

7:46am: Obinna Louis Nwobodo of Jefferson reported a civil dispute between himself and Western Iowa Transit. The Officer helped mediate the dispute.

9:35am: An anonymous caller reported a 3-year-old child standing by an open window in the 100 block of North Walnut Street. The Officer checked on the situation and found no assistance was needed.

11:05am: Katlyn Kendall of Jefferson reported a parking issue in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. The Officer checked on the issue and no citations were issued.

1:44pm: An anonymous caller reported a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of South Locust Street and East Madison Street. The Officer checked on the situation and found the vehicles had been moved and the drivers did not want Police assistance.

2:11pm: Tammy Ganoe of Jefferson spoke with an Officer regarding civil questions in reference to the eviction process. The Officer answered these questions.

2:29pm: The Department of Human Services referred a possible sexual assault case in Jefferson which had been brought to their attention. The Officer is investigating.

4:05pm: Angela Rice of Jefferson reported a suspected scam occurring over Facebook. The Officer is investigating.

4:47pm: An anonymous caller requested a welfare check on children living in a residence in the 500 block of South Cedar. The Officer checked on the situation and found the Department of Human Services was already aware of the situation and investigating.

5:58pm: Chris Terrall of Jefferson reported a careless driver on 220th Street near Y Avenue. Both an Officer and the Greene County Deputy looked for the reported vehicle and did not find it.

6:19pm: An Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Olive Street and East Park Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Carlos Ricardo Gonzales of Jefferson was placed under arrest for “Driving While Barred”

7:02pm: An Officer was dispatched to Evergreen Ridge, 1001 West Washington Street for a fire alarm activation. The Officer found a small fire had occurred when a resident was cooking. The fire was already out and the Jefferson Fire Department was called to check the property. No other issues were found.

Tuesday, January 23rd

10:35am: An Officer performed a funeral escort at the request of Slininger – Schroeder Funeral Home.

11:27am: The Greene County Middle School reported a situation involving a student making threats toward other students while referencing a weapon. A weapon was not located on school grounds. The Officer investigated, as a result of the investigation a juvenile male was taken into custody and charged with “Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon – D Felony” and Harassment in the 1st Degree – Aggravated Misdemeanor”

7:17pm: Samantha Reese of Boone reported seeing a female walking on 220th Street near the intersection with Elm Street. The Officer checked the area and did not find the female.

10:05pm: Jeanise Pedersen reported an erratic Driver on 220th Street, near E Avenue. The Officer watched for the vehicle and did not locate it.

Wednesday, January 24th

1:51am: Daren Dill of Jefferson reported a person having entered his apartment earlier in the day without his permission. The Officer is investigating.

2:18am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 700 block of South Elm Street.

6:44am: An Officer preformed a traffic stop near the intersection of East Reed Street and North Cedar Street. As a result of the traffic stop, William Funcke of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Fail to Obey Stop or Yield Sign”

1:57pm: A manager for Fareway reported a person having trespassed on the property. As a result of the investigation, Lanny Lewis of Jefferson was charged with “Trespassing – Simple”

2:28pm: An Officer checked on a vehicle having mechanical issues in the parking lot for the Wild Rose Casino. The Officer found no assistance was needed.

4:27pm: Darrell Stephen reported a deceased deer on his property in the 800 block of South West Street. The Officer could offer no assistance.

6:02pm: Dana Redfern reported an argument involving his juvenile son. The Officer helped mediate the situation.

6:44pm: Amanda Clark of Jefferson reported a parking violation in the 500 block of South Cedar Street. The Officer spoke with the vehicle’s driver and it was moved.

6:58pm: An Officer was dispatched to the Wild Rose Casino for a report of an employee of Coach’s Corner having seen suspicious activity. The Officer investigated and found nothing illegal had occurred.

10:00pm: An Officer was dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of West State Street for a possible Domestic Assault having occurred. The Officer is investigating.

Thursday, January 25th

6:14am: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 1300 block of North Grimmell Road. As a result of the traffic stop, Hailey Stone of Renwick, Iowa, was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”

7:43am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 1000 block of West Adams Street.

7:55am: Paul Richardson of Jefferson reported two dogs running loose in the 500 block of North Cedar Street. The Officer checked the area and did not find the dogs.

11:55am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 1200 block of North Elm Street.

4:44pm: Chad Sloan of Jefferson reported a parking violation in the 300 block of East Lincoln Way. The Officer spoke with the vehicle’s driver and it was removed.

6:02pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 600 block of North Locust Street.

9:26pm: An Officer assisted a vehicle stuck in the snow near the intersection of East Perry Street and North Wilson Street.

Friday, January 26th

5:05am: Kim Foster of Montezuma, Iowa, requested a welfare check on a female in the 200 block of West Adams Street. The Officer performed the check and found the female was not in need of assistance.

8:15am: An Officer completed a funeral escort at the request of Hastings Funeral Home.

Saturday, January 27th

12:50am: An employee of the Wild Rose Casino reported a possibly intoxicated patron who had been ejected from the casino and left the parking lot driving a semi-truck/trailer. The Officer located the vehicle in the parking lot for Sparky’s One Stop. As a result of the investigation, it was found the male patron was under the legal limit and not intoxicated.

4:35am: An Officer was dispatched to Hy-Vee, 106 West Washington Street for an alarm activation. The Officer found the alarm was accidentally set off by an employee.

11:55am: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 1100 block of East Lincoln Way. As a result of the traffic stop, Edwin Perez Lopez of Perry was issued a citation for “Fail to Have a Valid License”

1:46pm: Danielle Godwin of Carroll reported an erratic driver on 220th Street approaching Jefferson. The Officer located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The driver was advised of the complaint received and warned for the reported driving.

2:28pm: Kyle Hack of Jefferson reported he had caught a stray dog in the 700 block of South Wilson Street. The Officer picked up the dog and took it to the Community Animal Shelter.

6:21pm: Ryan Brown of Jefferson reported he could not locate his 13-year-old son. The Officer investigated and found the minor was staying with a friend.

Sunday, January 28th

8:30am: An Officer was dispatched to the intersection of McDuffie Drive and Sunset Road for an abandoned 911 call mapping in the area. The Officer did not find the source of the call.

1:54pm: Trent Ganoe of Jefferson spoke with an Officer regarding civil questions in reference to child custody. The Officer answered these questions.

6:56pm: Dick Whitver reported two persons walking in the roadway in the 1400 block of North Elm Street. The Officer checked the area and found no one in the roadway.
