The West Central Valley Girls Wrestling team went into the IGHSAU Regional Qualifier on Friday with the dream of sending some Wildcat girls to State. Willow Ray, received a bye in her first championship round, won against Delaney O’ Connor of Fort Dodge by Fall 3:02 into the match. Ray would keep the fire going in the quarterfinals, beating Presley Mass of Missouri Valley by decision 2-0. In the semi finals, Willow Ray’s momentum would be halted, as she fell to Shaylee Sutherland of Spencer by fall 3:20 and Odola Cham of Sioux Central by decision 8-2. Willow beat Kloee Jones of Carrol by fall 4:52 to claim fourth place. Gracie Sloss would also make it to the quarterfinals after receiving a bye then defeating Brilee Vandusen of Shenandoah by fall 3:22 but would be defeated by Jocelyn Buffum of Missouri Valley by Fall 1:16 into the match.
