A first of the season boys’ basketball victory for the Paton-Churdan Rockets took place in Churdan on Thursday night vs. Boyer Valley (Dunlap). The final was 64-62 in game two of the Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader. The final in the girls’ game was 57-21 in favor of BV.

Coach Greg Jacobs’ team led 41-28 at halftime after scoring the most points they had all season in the first two quarters. The Bulldogs steadily trimmed the deficit in the second half, but P-C held on for the win. Freshman Trevon Keeley had 21 points for the Rockets with 15 by Cayden Stream, and nine from Kinnick Steimel. Brody Koski had 22 points for BV. The Rockets are 1-14 and the Bulldogs fell to 3-13.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring in the girls’ game by 15 points from Lauren Malone. Ava Minnehan had six points for P-C with five from Kaliyah Minnihan, and four by Alivya Smith, BV is 5-11 and the Rockets fell to 0-14. The visitors led 32-9 at halftime.

The P-C teams play a regularly scheduled girl/boy doubleheader tonight vs. CAM (Anita) in Churdan.
