Greene County and Emmetsburg/Estherville-Lincoln Central squared off in high school bowling at Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson on Thursday with the Rams winning the girls’ match because the E’Hawks girls team was wiped out by injuries and did not participate. Greene County won the boys’ contest as well. The girls rolled to a season best total of 1,877 pins, The boys score was 2,689-2,314.
Senior Ava Schilling led the girls with a high game of 180 and a two game series of 337. Junior Allison Fields was next at 176 and 332. Senior Graci Cooklin had a 140 high game of 140 and 246 series. Shailynne Woodley had a 214 series including a 113 high game. Sophie Johansen rolled a 209 series and 113 high game. The win was the first in program history and the girls are now 1-6.
Junior Edrik Heisterkamp, the lone bowler from Carroll High School under an athletic sharing agreement, led the Rams with a 406 series. Junior Lane Fields had a 380 series with freshman Chase Fecher at 360, Freshman Trystan Cummings was at 340, and sophomore Teagan Chisholm was at 335. Fields had the high game of the day at 232 with Heisterkamp at 226, senior Chase Fecher 204, Chisholm 192, and senior Carter Fecher had a best game of 182. Greene County’s boys improved to 5-2.
Ram seniors were introduced following the Thursday matches.
The Rams have a makeup match today at Spare Time Lanes vs. Ankeny.
