As snow from earlier this winter melts, Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright wants to remind drivers to stay safe.

Arganbright mentions that with the colder temperatures, there’s always the chance for ice to form, and if temperatures are higher, snow and ice can melt and cause a slush to cover the road. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio drivers need to be cautious when they are out on the roads.

“People now need to do winter weather driving and in the towns at intersections and yields, because you may think you’re going to stop and you just slide right through the intersections. And they need to be aware, they need to slow down.”

Arganbright mentions there is still plenty of winter left in the season, so people need to continue to do their best to get where they need to go safely.
