The process to become a volunteer firefighter is simple, with a few steps.
The Perry Fire Department is looking for more volunteer firefighters. First responders play a vital role in our communities, with the Perry Fire Department doing service since 1878. The process to become a volunteer firefighter is easy, as Fire Chief Grason Hill explains.
“It’s real simple, if you’re interested, you just have to stop by the station and get an application. And you can get that from myself or one of my assistants. And you just fill out the application, turn it back into me, we’ll set up a time to meet these people that are interested. And do an interview and tell them what’s the ins and outs about being a volunteer firefighter.”
According to the City of Perry’s website, the roster of firefighters consist of both men and women specializing in fire suppression and prevention. For more on how to volunteer to become a firefighter call the fire department at (515)-465-4285.
