The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, several people spoke against the proposed Multi-Cultural Family Resource Center from Greene County Development Corporation. Those individuals wanted the Board to take their concerns under advisement when considering GCDC’s $5,000 contribution request for the project.
Then, following a report from the Iowa Department of Correctional Services, the Board approved the County Treasurer’s semi-annual report as presented. They also approved the resolution to issue no more than $10 million in general obligation bonds for designing and construction of a new county jail and levying a tax to pay for the interest and principal of the bonds as presented. Finally, the Board approved a 28E agreement with GCDC.
