Today is a rare day of practice for the basketball and wrestling teams at Greene County High School after bad weather wiped out classes or prompted early dismissals several times so far this month.

The Rams will host Roland-Story tomorrow in the high school gym in Jefferson and both varsity games will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 o’clock and the boys to follow. Both R-S teams are ranked in the top 10 of the Class 3A rankings for girls and 2A polls for boys. Greene County is 0-12 in girls’ basketball and 1-11 on the boys’ side.

Greene County takes a 10-7 wrestling dual meet record to Manson tomorrow night against Manson-Northwest Webster and CAM (Anita) for a 6 o’clock start. Coach Kirk Davis’ Rams are coming off a second place finish at last Friday’s Heart of Iowa Activities Conference tournament. Senior Gavin Scheuermann and junior Brent Dennhardt both won individual conference championships, Scheuermann at 157 lbs. and Dennhardt at 165, and Scheuermann now has 101 career victories.
