Those looking to help out the families affected by the tragic January 4th events at Perry High School can do so with a fundraiser launched by the Perry Community Facebook Administrator.
Perry Community Facebook Administrator Erin Owen has organized many fundraising efforts in collaboration with the community that will benefit the families affected by the tragedy. Owen encourages people who are able to contribute anything monetary as this event has forever impacted the families.
“This is going to be…it already has been forever life changing. We don’t know what anything is going to look like going forward. And if anybody can just help share things and keep the momentum up, because we’re already started to dwindle some. Just keep the fundraising efforts going because they’re going to have ongoing monetary needs for years to come. Not weeks, months, days, anything…it’s ya know the rest of their lives.”
Owen says that the last thing she wants the families to be concerned about is money. With that, a GoFundMe account has been set up at Family Credit Union in Perry that will go straight to the families. She explains that the goal is $100,000 but still rallies for more to be given because the needs of the families will need to be met continuously going forward.
