The City of Perry had a busy 2023 completing many projects, with one that improved streets and utilities.
The 2020 Downtown Street and Utilities improvement has been in the works for a while with reconstructing several streets. Services were provided by both Progressive Foundry and Weiss Industries to get a state and federal grant for infrastructure funding in order to offset a good portion of the construction project. Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson discussed what it took to cover the project.
“Total project cost ended up being just under three million-two hundred thousand dollars and our grants, I believe, were 2.5 million dollars.”
Peterson mentions that Progressive Foundry and Weiss Industries are relieved that the project has been completed, and shared that he is thankful for several industries that opted to invest into the project in Perry.
