There are challenges and rewards ahead for Coach Kirk Davis’ Greene County wrestling team. The Rams are in Atlantic today for the Rollin Dyer Invitational, a large tournament featuring some of Iowa and Nebraska’s top teams and individuals.
Among the challenges are a field of 20 teams, and well over 50 individuals rated among the best in their class. Those rated include two from Greene County in senior Gavin Scheuermann, fifth at 157 lbs., and junior Brent Dennhardt, fourth at 165, according to Flo Wrestling.
The rewards for those that do well are the knowledge they belong with some of the best. And for others, finding out strengths and weaknesses in January can be beneficial ahead of February’s postseason.
The next dual meets for the Rams are Jan. 11 in Jewel vs. South Hamilton and PCM (Monroe).
