Drought conditions remain dry in the Raccoon Valley Radio area.

According to the US Drought Monitor, Dallas and Guthrie counties are in extreme drought after spending the last few weeks in severe drought. Greene County is mostly in the extreme category,  with most of the northern and western portions under severe. 

According to the National Weather Service, Jefferson and Guthrie Center have seen no precipitation so far this month, and their monthly averages are 0.93 inches and 0.82 inches, respectively. Perry has had zero inches of precipitation during the first week of January, with the average for December at 1.28 inches.
