Neighboring communities are reaching out to help the Perry community after the tragic events that occurred Thursday morning at the high school.
Adel DeSoto Minburn (ADM) Schools had originally planned an After-Prom Fundraiser for their school after Friday night’s contest with Winterset. After what took place at Perry High School on Thursday, members with ADM’s After-Prom committee felt like it wasn’t an appropriate time for that and instead decided to offer their fundraiser to the community of Perry. Krissy Reynolds, with the ADM After-Prom committee feels grateful to shine some light for Perry during this difficult time.
“We’re very happy that there’s something that we can do. This is a tragic event and I think everybody feels helpless, and not knowing what to do for them, but this seemed like a no-brainer for us. Hopefully it will give them something to look forward to.”
ADM students made signs in support of Perry schools and there were blue collection buckets presented at the game to make donations. A reminder that Perry High School classes will be canceled all next week with the elementary and middle schools resuming on Friday, January 12th.
