The Salvation Army of Greene County recently completed its Red Kettle campaign.
Bill Monroe with the organization says they came within $300 of their goal of $7,000, with a final total of $6,719.80. About 90 percent of the funds that were collected will be invested back into the community to help families and individuals needing assistance with essential needs.
This year’s fundraising total was more than last year, which was just over $5,000. Monroe points out they will accept donations all year round at Home State Bank in Jefferson.
Monroe and the Salvation Army Service Unit of Greene County thanks everyone who participated and gave monetary donations during the holiday season.
