Even with the cooler weather, there are things that people can do outdoors at Springbrook State Park.

Iowa Department of Natural Resources Interpretive Naturalist and Educator Anne Riordan says that is planning a skiing event, should there be enough snowfall. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about another fun event that she had planned for later in the month.

“I have scheduled a winter wander, which is kind of a winter hike where we go out and look for tracks and look for signs of wildlife, maybe try to see if we can figure out what’s been going on, read the woods basically. Kind of look for clues and see what we can find.”

Riordan mentions that another fun thing she’s done for the winter is post since self-guided opportunities on the kiosks around the park.
