The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, due to the New Years holiday on Monday.
The Board heard more 2025 fiscal year funding requests from Bell Tower Community Foundation for $20,000, the food pantry with the Greene County Action Resource Center asked for $10,000, and Greene County New Opportunities requested $19,500. The Board took no action on the requests.
Next, the Board approved the December 29th cash count as presented, appointed Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins to the Region XII Council of Governments Policy Council, and hiring Matthew Meyer as a full time deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with an annual salary of $75,500, effective January 22nd. They also approved all items associated with the organizational portion of the meeting for the 2024 calendar year, including meeting dates and times, official depositories and newspapers, among other items. Finally, the Board approved to increase all part time employees with the sheriff’s office to $19 per hour for uncertified positions and $20 per hour for certified employees.
