The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday in regular session.

The meeting started with Brad Golightly elected as board chair for 2024. The Board then tabled its decision on renewing the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP) insurance coverage, due to the final figures not yet being released. Next, the Board approved purchasing two motor grader compactor attachments for the Secondary Roads Department for $78,720, and a right of way purchase agreement with Jeffrey and Brenda Briles for $1,103 for a road resurfacing project on County Road P-46. The Board also discussed and agreed to move forward with the proposed 28E agreement with the city of Dawson relating to the P-46 road project, pending approval from the Dawson City Council.

Additionally, the Board approved the city of West Des Moines using 0.41 credits of its prepaid wetland credits for a project, an appointment of Emily Merrick in the County Recorder’s Office to be the Recorder Administrator, and all board appointments, along with official newspapers, depositories, and other committee appointments as presented. Finally, the Board approved a resolution for a construction evaluation to use the master matrix with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for animal confinement construction.
