Greene County basketball starts the 2024 portion of the schedule this Friday in Jefferson for a girl/boy doubleheader in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference vs. Perry. The games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

In fact, there’s a heavy home flavor to the first three weeks of January for the Greene County varsity basketball teams. The boys have five home dates among the first six games of the season and the girls are scheduled to be on the home court four of their first five.

Wins were tough to come by for the Rams in November and December with the girls going 0-11 and the boys 1-9. The final game of 2023 resulted in a victory for the Greene County boys after a combined 20 straight losses between the two teams.
