It’s not too late for adults in the Perry and surrounding area to join a special program at the Perry Public Library.
Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer says the Adult Winter Reading Program started on December 1st and ends February 29th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio the adult version of the library’s overall theme of “Get Yeti to Read” gives participants the opportunity that for every book they read, their name is entered into a weekly drawing for gift cards and a book light. She points out there are activities for adults to do, as well as one ongoing special activity with the Color Coded Reading Challenge.
“So you can opt in to do that, it comes with your registration packet. When you have completed the challenge you turn it in and you will get extra grand prize entries. It’s fun because you can use those books that you’re reading for the Color Coded Challenge, turn those reviews in individually and get entries, and then when you complete the Color Coded Challenge you turn that in and you get additional (grand prize) entries.”
Farmer says the grand prize is for a Kindle Fire and a library swag bag. She notes about 30-40 people signed up at the beginning of the Adult Winter Reading Program, but they always take new participants. Anyone who is interested can contact the library at 515-465-3569 or click here to sign up.
