An Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School graduate continues to serve the United States in the armed forces.
According to the US Navy Office of Communication Outreach, Caleb Herrick is a 2018 ADM graduate and is currently a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the US Navy. Herrick is serving at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, which is the largest diving facility in the world. The training center has 23 certified diver life support systems, an aquatics training facility with the second largest pool in the country, a submarine lock-out trunk and two 133-foot Yard Diving Tenders for open ocean diving support.
There are more than 1,200 students from the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Army that train at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center every year.
The US Navy Office of Communication Outreach said in the press release that Herrick joined the Navy two years ago and that he earned the “Top Shot” honors at Expeditionary Combat School, where he shot the highest score of his class on an M4.
