The AC/G Chargers were on the road to start the season, and came up with a win for both teams.
Both teams during the girls game started things off slow, but the Chargers took and kept the lead early, going into halftime up 23-15. The push continued for AC/GC after the break, and the girls put up 40 more points, taking the game 63-44. Regan Carney came away with 17 points, while Shay Lemke had 12, and Kelsey Carlson finished with 10. Head Coach Brad Baudler said he was proud of the team for sticking with it and playing a good game, as the Chargers had 9 three pointers, but he wished they could’ve made it to free throws more.
The boys started off down 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, then down 27-22 going into the break. After halftime, the Chargers put on a clinic, and ended the game with a 77-60 victory. Some balanced shooting across the starters, along with many trips to the charity stripe for junior Noah Kading, helped boost the team to the win. Kading put up 26 points, while Payton Policky tallied 17, Anthony Solorzano recorded 15 and Jathan South was marked for 11.
