The Greene County Historical Society is bringing its familiar holiday-themed final Friday program of 2023.
The Historical Society is encouraging everyone to “Celebrate the Holidays” on Friday with a Christmas concert at the Greenewood Center in Jefferson at noon. During lunch, there is going to be a performance by a saxophone quartet from the Greene County High School, under the direction of Wes Anderson. Then after lunch will be a group of community members singing carols with director Sheilah Pound. Finally, Historical Society President Nick Foster will lead the organization’s annual business meeting.
Lunch is $10 per person and reservations must be made today contacting them at 515-386-4408.
Additionally, the Historical Society is hosting a Holiday Open House at the Greene County Historical Museum on Saturday, December 9th from 9am-noon. While attendees are exploring the various exhibits and displays of historical artifacts from Greene County, Janice Harbaugh will play holiday music on the grand piano and Gina Harrington will read from her book, “Christmas at the Farm.”
