The Jefferson Matters Ambassadors were on hand Monday morning to welcome a new business to town.

Dollar Tree held a ribbon cutting and grand opening event for its new location on north Highway 4. Store Manager Charis Ingram was newly hired by the company to be in her current position and she commented how the store looked overall.

“I absolutely love it. It’s a beautiful store. Our team worked really hard to make it so. They put in long arduous hours to do it. The community coming in has been fantastic. They’ve had nothing but good things to say. They’ve shown their excitement for us being here and we are equally excited to be here.”

Chris Cortez was the project manager for the Jefferson location, as well as the store manager of Dollar Tree in Fort Dodge. He talked about why the company wanted to be in Jefferson.

“We just wanted to spread the ‘Greene Love.’ The closest Dollar Tree to this area is either Ames, or Fort Dodge, or Carroll, (and) Perry. We want to give you guys something you guys could come locally, throw your shoes on and go down the street, and come see us. Our customer counts are really high over the last week. They had the number one sales, actually in the whole district, including the actual stores that have been here in our district for ten to 20 years.”

The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9am-9pm and Sunday 10am-8pm. Ingram adds they are also looking for more employees and for interested individuals to go to dollartree.com to learn more.
