Tonight marks the ADM Tigers men’s basketball team’s first game of the 2023-24 season, and against the familiar opponent, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs. Having faced each other in multiple season openers, the teams have a history, with the previous encounter resulting in a close score of 46-48, ADM’s close loss.
Expressing optimism, Coach Trevor Mickelson commented on the team’s goals going into the game, “Offensively our goal is to have 16 or more sit and fewer than 12 turnovers and then we also have a goal of trying to rebound the other team in terms of offensive rebounds by four so those are kind of three offensive goals and then defensively if you get three stops in a row we call it a kill and so our goal is to have six kills in a game so six times throughout the course of the game we get three consecutive stops.” The Tigers enter the game with a focus with a collective aim to showcase their progress on the court from their off-season growth.
