Greene County starts the 2023-24 high school wrestling season on Tuesday, but head coach Kirk Davis and his wrestlers already know their postseason destination. The Rams have been assigned to a Class 2A District Tournament in Atlantic on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, with the top two finishers in each of 14 weight classes qualifying for the State Tournament in Des Moines Feb. 14-17.

In addition to the host Trojans and Greene County, teams in the Atlantic district are Creston, Knoxville, PCM (Monroe), Perry, Saydel (Des Moines), and Van Meter.

There are several new weight classes in Iowa high school wrestling this year, but 106 lbs. through 138 remain the same as in recent years. The new weight classes are 144, 150, 157, 165, 175, 190, and 215. The highest weight class remains the same at 285 lbs.

Greene County opens the 2023-24 season at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Ogden vs. the host Bulldogs, PCM, and Van Meter.
