A new judge has been appointed with the district that includes Greene County.

Governor Kim Reynolds recently appointed Ashley Sparks as a new district court judge for the Judicial Election District 2B. Sparks is from Bondurant and owns her own private law firm, Sparks Law, PLLC and serves as a Boone County Magistrate. She has an undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University, a master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her law degree is from Drake University Law School.

Sparks is filling a vacancy with the retirement of District Court Judge James Ellefson. The Judicial District 2B includes Greene County, along with Boone, Hardin, Marshall, Calhoun, Webster, Pocahontas, Carroll, Hamilton, Wright, Humboldt, Sac and Story counties.
