The West Central Valley Wildcats boys basketball team is preparing for a new season, but before they get started, we take a look at how they did last year.
The Wildcats started the season off with a 58-50 home loss against Southeast Warren, then picked up a 50-46 win against Glidden-Ralston, before fallin in three straight games, 69-42 against Ogden, 69-31 against Des Moines Christian and 73-58 against Panorama. The team then picked up a 57-26 victory over Paton-Churdan, then falling 62-42 against Earlham, 82-45 against Madrid and 70-39 against AC/GC heading into Christmas break.
Once back from the holidays, the Wildcats beat Interstate 35 with a score of 62-61, then fell 53-50 against Woodward-Granger, 75-52 against Ogden and 62-45 against Pleasantville. The team won 64-48 against Colfax-Mingo, then fell in the next five games, 64-50 against Panorama, 61-46 against Perry, 70-42 against Madrid, 77-49 against Van Meter and 73-44 against AC/GC.
In the last three games of the season, West Central Valley beat Woodward Academy 65-41, and fell to Saydel 63-45 and Woodward-Granger 69-56. In the postseason, the Wildcats faced off against Panorama for the third time, but ultimately fell 63-49.
