The 2023 Iowa Football Coaches Association/Iowa Print Sportswriters Association All-State team have been announced. In Class 2A, Greene County High School senior Jack Hansen was on the first team as an offensive utility player, and kicker Nathan Behne, also a senior, was a second team selection. We focus on Hansen today and tomorrow the focus will be on Behne.
Hansen caught 54 passes in eight games for the 3-5 Rams with 10 touchdowns and 943 yards. Every receiver ahead of him in all three categories played more games than Hansen, with as many as 13 contests to his eight. The 54 catches are a Greene County program record and the number of catches, the 10 TDs and 943 yards all rank high on the Rams’ all-time lists.
The Ram senior also set a program all-time receiving yardage record for a single game in a loss at Story City to Roland-Story in week six when he had 328 receiving yards.
